- How are participants in Elation linked to participants in Fitbit Plus?
If the integration is enabled before participants are added to Fitbit Plus, and all participants are created in Elation (recommended), each participant will be created in Fitbit Plus using the ID of the participant in Elation. However, if a customer has been using Elation and Fitbit Plus, and participants exist in both systems before the integration is enabled, Fitbit Plus needs to match up the existing participants and attempts to avoid creating duplicates during the initial import. The primary (and most reliable) method of matching a participant in Elation to a participant in Fitbit Plus is using the Elation participant ID as an external identifier on the participant in Fitbit Plus. If a participant in Fitbit Plus exists with an external identifier for an existing Elation participant ID, we will use this ID to link the participant. That is, you can manually add the Elation ID to an existing participant in Fitbit Plus to ensure that the desired participants are linked together. This should be done before performing the import for any participants for which the fuzzy matching (below) fails to link the participants correctly. Alternatively, the Elation ID can be added to a participant after the initial import (when the integration has already been enabled) to resolve import problems. For participants in Fitbit Plus with no Elation ID (external identifier), we use the following rules to attempt to match participants correctly:
- If no participant in Fitbit Plus matches the Elation participant ID, we will attempt to match by name and email address.
- If the Elation participant has no email address, we will attempt to match by name and birth date.
- If there is no match for any of the above, a new participant will be created in Fitbit Plus.
- Why am I seeing two participant profiles in Fitbit Plus for the same participant?
Every participant record in Elation is associated with a unique ID. When the Elation integration is initially enabled with Fitbit Plus, we attempt to match existing participants (see above) but if no matching participant is found (such as when a participant has a slightly different name in Elation vs Fitbit Plus, like Bob and Bobby) a new participant is created in Fitbit Plus and is associated with the Elation participant ID. If a participant account in Fitbit Plus was created prior to the Elation integration being enabled, and the Elation participant could not be linked to an existing Fitbit Plus participant, Elation will create a new participant account.
- What do I do if the Elation integration creates a duplicate participant account in Fitbit Plus?
Ensure that the participant account you wish to keep has the Elation ID in the participant's External Identifiers list. (Have questions on where to find the Elation ID? Refer to Step 1 here.) Then, remove the Elation ID from the participant's Fitbit Plus account that you wish to delete. Also, ensure that only the appropriate participant has an email address, and the duplicate participant does not. Once you've done this, type @support into the messaging stream of the participant account you wish to delete, and request that they delete the duplicate account.
- When Elation creates a participant account in Fitbit Plus, where does that account go?
Participant accounts created by Elation live in the Not Enrolled Dashboard. Once your participants register their accounts or are manually enrolled by a coach, they will move to the Enrolled Dashboard.
- Once my participants are added to Fitbit Plus from Elation, how do I invite them to register their accounts?
Participant accounts created by Elation live in the Not Enrolled Dashboard until participants have registered. You can send your participants an invitation email to register their accounts by tapping the red "enroll" button to the right of the participant's name.
This opens a slide out menu on the right. So long as the participant has an email address and coach associated with his Fitbit Plus account, you will see a red button to send invite email to [email address].
- Where do I see Plan Notes from Fitbit Plus in Elation?
Plan Notes created in Fitbit Plus are sent to Elation as items Requiring Action.
Tapping Sign Off opens a window containing the Plan Note, including the note details (ex. new health actions that were added to a participant's Health Action Plan in Fitbit Plus) and the author of the note.
Signing Off on the Fitbit Plus Plan Note saves it as a Chronological Record.
To review saved Fitbit Plus Plan Notes in a participant's chart in Elation, navigate to Chronological Records. Plan Notes will appear in order of when they were created. Tapping on an individual Fitbit Plus Plan Note will once again open a window containing the note details. Tapping on the External Report Detail link brings you to the participant's account in Fitbit Plus.
